yesterday i had a weird crush of firefox browser, it freeze for few minutes and i couldn't even close the browser, after couple minutes it blinked and then i could close the browser, I re-opened it and it appeared as default first installation situation, no bookmarks, nothing.. then it blinked again and i couldn't really open new tabs.. after 10 minutes that in the middle i plugged out my pc from the internet, the bookmarks came back but i had to set up again the theme and also basic customs of the page.. i wonder what it can be, I hope no one hacked my computer, though i use this same system over the years and never had such a problem since i know how to be careful out there.. but still sometimes shit happens.. I would like to know if there was some kind of maintenance work yesterday or some issue from firefox about it otherwise i will start suspect i'm hacked.. thank you all very much for any help kind regards Sriel

1. "Maintenance work" outside of your Firefox installation wouldn't cause the symptoms that you provided.

I am curious what was being displayed in Firefox when that happened; like were you watching a video? And how many tabs were open; and were more tabs being opened at the time of that occurrence?

2. Firefox freezing, crashing, or not being able to close Firefox could indicate that Windows was overstressed by using too many CPU resources. When that happens the wise thing to do is to open the Windows Task Manager and view what is happening. https://www.howtogeek.com/66622/stupid-geek-tricks-6-ways-to-open-windows-task-manager/

3. As far as the theme and basic customizations being lost, perhaps your Firefox Profile got a Refresh. One indication of a Refresh being done is the appearance of a folder named Old Firefox Data on your Desktop.

Type about:profiles in the URL bar and hit Enter. Please provide a screenshot of that "internal page". We should be able to determine if a Profile Refresh did happen, and when.

See this support article. How do I create a screenshot of my problem? It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.

Ok, 2 points you mentioned, actually happened.. before I can tell you there were 3 tabs opened (FB, some news page maybe and 1 tv program)

1st is the folder (Old Firefox Data) appeared suddenly on my desktop

2nd this desktop is used for audio so the softwares are taking some CPU power but i never saw the cpu goes over about 63%

well I'm much more relaxed now, thanks !!
