suddenly all spam has ceased on my main account.
there have been NO CHANGES to any server settings either at the host or via thunderbird locally.................or on ANYTHING else in the foodchain for this account. NOTHING IS DIFFERENT. Spam stopped about 18 hours ago, while recognized emails continue to come in as normal. I've been around since slightly before the web existed (really true) and know my way around, but I am stumped, and so is my host, a substantial, first class operation with great tech support. any thoughts, please? many thanks!
Possible that the source email or bulk mail service IP address is blacklisted? Makes for instant block before delivery ... Just a thought.Read this answer in context 1

I would be guessing new spam filtering server side. My ISP does not deliver around 90% of the mail they receive addressed to their customers because they consider it spam.
I recall paying $20 for netscape navigator and then this new browser from mosaic appeared. After a dodgy purchase it was rebadged Internet Explorer V1 so the sell never did get their percentage of future sales that was i the contract.
respectfully, and I would be thinking the same thing, but as I mentioned in my email, after hours working with them, there is virtually zero chance that this is the case...unless they have lost their minds and I cannot tell.
that is what is so puzzling about this.
at this moment, the only "legit" answer is that one spammer had my email address and is no longer operating.
I don't know what else to think, but my comments about "filtering" should be taken literally...meaning server and client side both.
anyway, thanks for taking a stab at it.
