Ask to save logins and passwords for websites
I am running with ubuntu 18.04.3 and firefox 71.0
My problem is that I also use roboform which doesn't really like ubuntu too much. I understand that roboform tries to change my settings for "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites". The strange thing is that it doesn't do this all the time. This morning, for instance, I turned my machine on and went to preferences to make sure it was checked and it was already set. This is strange as its sometimes set and sometimes not set. The reason I need it set all the time is that roboform also works sometimes and sometimes not. Between the two its all just a genuine pain in the ***.
My question is simple. Is there a setting that will force this to be on all the time? (maybe in about:config?) Can I add something in about:config to do the job? My other solution is just change password managers. That is, probably, the real solution but I am too stubborn I think.
Thank you................

To lock that setting, your best option is probably to lock the signon.rememberSignons
preference using an AutoConfig setup. You'd lock it to either true
or false
, depending on whether you want to option to stay enabled or disabled.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for the reply. I will save this in case it goes bad. I turned my machine on this morning and tested it and its working and don't want to change anything unless I need to.
Thanks again!
Hello, would someone please confirm that if I have Roboform but use it only for form-filling, that configuration will continue to turn off Firefox's "Ask to save logins and passwords" ?
If these two apps "fight" each other, is Wesley Branton's suggestion the only way to keep Firefox's option turned ON?
Thank you.
There can only be one Password Manager active at the time, either RoboForm or the builtin Lockwise Password Manager. If you would lock the pref then I don't know in what way locking this pref would affect RoboForm. You would have to check this yourself and possibly disable RoboForm for Firefox.
