HTML5 video not working, firefox suggests installing Windows media features even though I am not on N or KN version of Windows 10
I am running the latest version of Firefox, and the latest version of Windows 10 Education (NOT an N or KN version of Windows). I get a bar at the top of the window telling me to install Windows Media Features. HTML5test.com says that my browser doesn't support MPEG-4 ASP, H.264, or H.265. I tried running in safemode and get the same issues. Chrome is able to play videos that Firefox is not on this machine. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox. I think these problems /may/ have been caused by a Windows update, but that's just a hunch.

Type about:support in the address bar and press Enter.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Content Blocking. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. This article has more info on managing this feature:
The problem is with any website using HTML5 video. I've especially noticed this on Youtube, certain videos will not play at all, especially newer uploads. The problem persists in safe mode. I think the problem may be specifically with mp4 videos, as webm's work normally. For example, if I visit this page https://tools.woolyss.com/html5-audio-video-tester/?u=download.opencontent.netflix.com.s3.amazonaws.com/AV1/Chimera/Chimera-AV1-10bit-768x432-1090kbps.mp4 I get "No video with supported format and MIME type found." even in safe mode. The video plays as expected in Chrome. I don't have a shield icon, but I do get this connection not secure warning.
This is very interesting. I had the same problem.
However, my download manager add-on saw the clip, and I was able to download it. It played, but no audio.
This is a MP4 file that is downloaded from Netflix via an open HTTP link. The server doesn't have a certificate installed, so if you would force a secure connection or disallow loading insecure content (mixed passive content)) then the video will fail (security.mixed_content.block_display_content = false).

Update: I tried to watch something on Prime Video, and got this error. Widevine is up to date and always enabled on my machine. Is there a way I could uninstall and reinstall it? Also, I tried switching the flag you mentioned and I still have the same issues.
