If I shut down the macbook pro loading firefox takes forever loading and then asks for login password etc, This does not seem right but I don't know what settings need to be changed.

1) If you are using the Master Password option, you need to enter it before the passwords are available to the sync.

2) If you are using a homepage that you must log into, you need to provide its password.

1 = Turn off the Master Password

2 = Do not sign out of that website. Do not remove the log-in cookies.

Firefox uses the Password Manager to store the credentials of the Firefox Sync account (chrome://FirefoxAccounts). If you use the master password then you need to enter this MP every time you start Firefox. If you are asked to login again to Sync then this means that the Sync credential data isn't stored in the Password Manager. Once you are logged in to Sync then the signedInUser.json file in the profile folder is used to connect to Sync during the current session.

When I open firefox icon from the desktop a window opens and changes to your profile, sign in to create firefox account and asks for email address to continue, then password in next window. This is a hassle as safari is way to slow due to the beachball if I open any window.
