Can multiple sites be associated with a single login in the saved logins?

A single account can be used for a large number of sites on an intranet and the 1:1 nature of the saved logins means they all need to be updated when the password changes. Could logins be grouped in the saved logins form?

It could be a good idea, although it would be difficult to distinguish between the legitimate use case that you are describing and the possibility of using the same login details for multiple websites.

Nevertheless, feel free to submit your suggestion to the places I suggested above and the developers can discuss it and potentially add it.

This is not a feature supported at the moment.

Unfortunately, since the practice of recycling the same login information is widely frowned upon for its security vulnerabilities, I doubt that this feature will ever be introduced. While I can certainly see the benefit of it under certain situations, I could see the risks in most other situations.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.

It might also be worth suggesting the idea directly to the developers of the Mozilla Lockwise project.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply - That's fair enough, but could you explain what you mean by security vulnerability though? I can't imagine how it's different to any other username/password storage.

I simply mean the concept of using the same login credentials across multiple websites. Theoretically, you are supposed to have a unique password for each account that you have online.

Allowing multiple websites to be associated with the same saved login information would be promoting the unsafe practice of using your login information across different websites.

Ahh I see - that's not what I'm getting at. I'm talking about the same actual account (ie. AD account) being used for different intranet sites. A single account where a password change will need to be applied to each individual recording of that password.
