Hmm, it's not the most explanatory error message, is it?

Does it make any difference if you use Save instead of Open?

I found an earlier thread on this error with some links and potential workarounds: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1026743

Any luck?

Did you resume a paused download?

This is actually a very old error that exists for quite some time.

This means that Firefox can't access the .part file for some reason (readRError) because it might be locked by another application like your security software. This might also be a permission issue with copying file permissions from the temp folder where Firefox stores the file initially to the final destination folder.
