I just opened FF and only the tabs to the left of the open tab have materialised. How do I get the rest back?

On re-opening ff all of the tabs to the left of the last open tab have re-opened as per normal but none of those to its right.

There are far too many to try to re-open manually one by one.

HEEEEELP MEEEE!!!!

Hi DaveH50, the scrounger page shouldn't take more than a few minutes. When you drop the file on the box, the decompression into JSON data (yes, it looks like a wall of text with some URLs in it) should take less than a minute. Then when you click Scrounge URLs, that should run in less than a minute before it says it is finished and enables the Save buttons. If yours takes forever or never finishes, my script might have encountered a problem in processing the file.

After some false starts, hours of scrolling (it's very slow and jerky) and several thumping headaches I have identified a file that contains the information (tabs) that I desperately want to preserve.

That's the good news.

The not so good is that I installed a new app and the damn thing opened FF. I've left it open.

Progress has been made but I've no idea what to do next.

Should I extract the scrounger file urls?

If the file is OK then you can consider to open the file in a new profile as a test and place this file as sessionstore.jsonlz4 at the main level in the profile folder. If you do this in the current profile folder then make sure to backup the current sessionstore.jsonlz4 or possibly bookmark all the tabs.

You can copy a compressed .jsonlz4 file to the main profile and rename the file to sessionstore.jsonlz4 to replace the current file (make sure to backup the current sessionstore.jsonlz4).

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
