Did you install the Lockbox extension in Firefox?

I do not know whether Firefox 66 has a working Lockbox integration. I am able to open the Lockbox page manually by pasting the value of the signon.management.overrideURI pref in the location/address bar This is a moz-extension:// URL with the GUID as shown for this extension on the about:debugging page.

In Firefox 67+ you should automatically get the Lockbox page in a tab if you click "Saved Logins" on the Options/Preferences page. The Lockbox extension should work in Firefox 63 and later according to it manifest.json file.

Did you manage to get Lockbox working?

I finally had time to look at your response and frankly, I don't understand it. Not much of a tech any more after retiring about 10 years ago from a 40+ year career in the industry in sales.

Anyway, I'm using Firefox V 66.0.3 and the indication is that I am up to date. I'm guessing V 67 is a beta version?

Does Lockbox mine my tabs or bookmarks looking for sites that require a login and try to capture the ID and password? If so, how do I activate it? I'm using LastPass now and it works fairly well and syncs with my iPhone. Using Lockbox from Firefox would make thinks much easier if I can find and activate it.

Lockbox is about Login data (names and passwords) that is stored in the Firefox Password Manager. Lockbox allows to share this information between devices that are connected to a specific Firefox Account as used by Sync. So you need to use (setup) Sync and include syncing the passwords in the Sync settings.

Lockbox will be added to Firefox in a future Firefox version as one of the system extensions that you can find on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page under Features. The extension is currently still in alpha development state and not all features are ready. In Firefox 63 and later you can install the Lockbox extension. A link to install the current alpha version can be found further down on this page. The first listed Alpha is the current release (2.1.0-alpha). Look for lockbox-signed.xpi further down, just above the previous Alpha.

If you click this link then you get a dialog asking to allow this website to install software that you can accept if you want to try out Lockbox. You can consider to wait for Firefox 67 as in this version it is easier to get Lockbox integration in Firefox. I think that for now you would have to look at the about:config page to get the URL to open lock box like I posted above. This 67 version comes with a menu item in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list to access login data and open Lockbox when installed in a tab. If you have a mobile device then you can install the Lockbox app and connect to a Firefox account you use on desktop that has login data enabled to easily get access to your passwords.

Note that you will still have to install the above mentioned extension in Firefox 67. The releases page shows the current version as the first Alpha version with a link to install the XPI file as a Firefox extension (lockbox-signed.xpi).

I know what it means to communicate in technobabble(tnble). However, when one, who uses and supports Mozilla, using a more standard language would be appropriate. I 'code' for automation and controls devices and do not wish to learn other tnble at my age.

Calling support should not entail snippets of code, long running oratory of tnble, or a weeks worth of research.

Come on support, give us a program that is secure and we can use. There is no need for 'new and exciting look'. Give us a manual where we can look it up. At least have a section that is somewhere between "how do I stat it?" and "add this json code to the inf file and compile"..

I do not know how many have contributed to the cause, but in my case where I am a disabled person with limited income, I have donated a bunch. Don't let me down and have to use something like IE

You can provide feedback directly to Mozilla here: https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/FirefoxInput/ Which can easily be reached via the Help > Submit Feedback menu item inside each version of Firefox for the last 15 years.

Almost all the support contributors here are 'merely' other Firefox users, not Mozilla staff members or Mozilla developers (who have their own "support area"). S.O.P. for open source software where advanced level user's help the less technically inclined user's.

As far as IE goes, it is no longer supported by Microsoft and hasn't received more than cursory security updates for a number of years now.
