Firefox crashes when closing.

For the past 3 months (right after installing version 62.0), Firefox crashes every time I close it (usually twice a day). I always submit the crash reports which, apparently are routinely ignored, as was an email I sent to Mozilla about this problem. Is anyone else dealing with this? (I don't want to "refresh" Firefox" because I did this once before and lost all of my settings and bookmarks.)

Crash reports are sent to the Mozilla servers for the techs to look over. They seldom contact the user.

When you give us the report numbers, we look up the reports and try to help you fix the issue. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

If you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" then try to disable this feature or at least remove clearing Browsing Histor.

  • clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exception for password and other website specific data
  • clearing "Cookies" will remove all selected cookies including cookies with an "Allow" exception you may want to keep
