Missing attachments from gmail

I see that this issue was raised last year, but I am having it now. It was suggested that the attachment was "lost" in filtering, but it is happening to me in messages delivered to my in box. Quite frustrating. I hope it can be fixed.

PS - dragging it onto the desktop and then opening (with Tbird) does restore the attachment but isn't ideal.
