I hate asking "community", but I have no choice. In the past week, I have created username and password for two different websites. Set up accounts on those sites, etc. I cannot access them again! I have tried the applicable troubleshooting articles, etc, etc, including clearing cookies and disallowing and resetting my firewall.

Doh! The problems were with the user -- me. One site is for a weekly conference call. I can only access it at that time. For the other website, I only remembered a portion of my user name.

Thank you for all your help and time. Sorry to be such a bother.

Hi,

Does this mean that the thread you started here can be closed  ?

No. This thread continues. I tried all the solutions suggested in the Help pages and none worked. That's why I'm needing help from the communtiy.

I was referring to the other thread you started :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1202944

Can that thread be closed  ?

Or does that pertain to a personal matter  ?

You replied in the other thread (mentioned above) and you will indeed continue here in this thread.

When you say you can't access them again : does that mean that you can't log in  ?

Can you log in on other web sites  ?

Do you use a master password  ?

You will probably already have read this article, but just in case :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/usernames-and-passwords-are-not-saved

Thank you, Happy 112. Here are my answers. I hope they help you help me.

<does that mean that you can't log in  ?> Yes. These two sites do not recognize the user names (I assume also the passwords) I set up for them.

<Can you log in on other web sites  ?> Yes. I can log in on all the other sites I access on Firefox.

< Do you use a master password  ?> No, I do not.

I have not read the article you suggested. The usernames and passwords were saved correctly; the websites do not recognize them.

Thank you for answering my questions.

May I give you another article to take a look at  ?

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-login-issues-on-websites-require-passwords

Thank you, but I already looked at that article and tried everything suggested.

Just a few random thoughts :

On those two sites, after you filled in your username and password, did you then get a prompt from Firefox, asking you to save these data  ?

These sites might be telling Firefox to not save form history. This is especially common on email and banking websites.

Probably a rhetorical question : In Options => Privacy & Security - did you check 'Remember logins and passwords for websites'  ?

I'm running out of ideas - if none of the above (including the articles I gave you links to) leads to a solution to your problem, then I can only hope that somebody else will come to your rescue ....
