Some major websites like Google, Facebook, and YouTube use a new kind of compression. If there is an intermediary filtering your access to those sites, and it has not been updated to handle this compression, you get the kind of question-mark-diamond characters shown in your screenshot.

The latest program identified as having this problem was Lavasoft's Web Companion program. If you have that one, please try disabling or uninstalling it.

If you do not have that program, could you check the certificate to see whether we can spot a "man in the middle"? Here's how:

Call up the View Certificate dialog for a page that has the problem using your choice of the following methods:

  • right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Certificate"
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Certificate"
  • click the padlock or "i" icon in the address bar, then the ">" button, then More Information, and finally the "View Certificate" button

The key thing is the "Issued by" section. For google.dk, it should look like the attached. Do you have something else there?

Hi   !

Does this happen on one website only   ?

As this may be caused by malware, would you try this please :

AdwCleaner (it's free)  :

Hi dear,

Thanks for your suggestion. No, it happens every time on any name and also now some weird marks & letters shown on the web browser at the starting. As well as I installed, run and cleaned some programs by AdwCleaner as you said. But problem not solved.chrome browser runs the same way. It would be a great help if you can send me another solution for this matter. Thank you

Type about:preferences#content<enter> in the address bar. Across from fonts and colors, press the Advanced button. On the bottom, turn on Allow Web Sites To Choose Their Own.
