When you hover your mouse over the attachment, does Gmail display separate options for downloading or opening in Google Docs? You shouldn't be forced to open in Google Docs.

Adobe PDF's are now Adobe PDF's but excel sheets are Google Sheets even though I unchecked Goggle Sheets, Google Docs, etc. and clicked Done. Now what?
