I synced my desktop and android phone. Bookmarks went to phone and have gone from desktop. How do I get them back?

I downloaded Firefox onto my phone and was asked to confirm the sign in to begin syncing. Later, I was asked to do the same thing with my desktop. Happy days! Everything was available on my phone, the only problem is now most of my bookmarks folders and their contents are gone from my desktop. Some of them are for my Forex trading and I need them back. Any suggestions?
