TB update deleted past 9 months messages
I just updated TB to version 45, and now the past 9 months worth of messages are gone. Where did they go? Are they recoverable? All messages before Dec.14, 2015 are still there.
Using TB 45 on Windows 10.

The update doesn't cause loss of messages. The most likely cause is anti-virus software messing with Thunderbird mail files is causing corruption.
You can restore your lost messages from a backup of your Thunderbird profile if you took the effort to create one in the first place. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiles-tb#w_backing-up-a-profile
Also see this article. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Disappearing_mail
Not related to the lost messages problem, both of your accounts communicate with the server in the clear. I.e. your password is transmitted in the clear every time you access the server. Don't your email provider's offer secure connections or you simply don't care?
