What is a long running script error mean and how can I fix it?

I downloaded an add on called web developer, (boxes marked: Disable, cookies, CSS, Forms, Images, information, Miscellaneous, Outline, Resize, Tools, View Source, and Options. It has 3 check marks at the far right, 1) Standard Compliance Mode, 2) No CSS errors, 3) Javascript Errors. They should all have green checks, but the CSS and Javascript either show a yellow triangle or a red circle with an x in it.
