After a full computer re-set a month ago, I re-downloaded TB and have a problem that was not in evidence before. My folders mentioned in the title regularly seem to have only some or none of my previously placed emails present, and after a few seconds TB logs on to the outlook server and re-downloads them. This is a significant problem for me as my expensive satellite broadband only gives me 10GB per month, which was fine until countless emails disappear and re-download themselves on a daily basis!

I have scoured TB settings thoroughly and cannot find a setting which allows emails to be downloaded as normal, and then stick where I put them. Very often I need to refer to them off line and they may or may not be there.

On, I believe, a related theme, I can no longer compose emails off line to be saved or placed in drafts for sending later when on line. TB seems very confused when not on line, even if I select work offline. This was never an issue before.

Anyway, I'd be very grateful for any assistance!

Other people were complaining about this in this forum before. It is believed to be a Microsoft server problem. There was no evidence Thunderbird is the culprit, and then the complaints stopped at some point. So there's little you can do except complaining to Microsoft.

If I were you I'd look for another email provider. There are complaints in the forum about various Outlook.com issues all the time.

Try to use a local Drafts folder, i.e. the one underneath 'Local Folders' instead of the one on the Outlook.com server.
