I have three web browsers on my MAC Book Pro, and only Firefox is becoming corrupted. A week after installation I'll find that google.com no longer is my homepage (even though I've indicated it in preferences.) What appears to be another browser (centurylink.com) will appear listing hits like it does on google. I've gone to Century Link and deselected all if its services so that this doesn't happen - but it continues to happen. I uninstalled Firefox because Century Link said it was corrupted, and reinstalled it, and the same thing happened again after a week. I don't know why this is happening. Right now, I have Firefox uninstalled because I think it's a security risk. None of this is happening on the other browsers, by the way: Safari, Google Chrome.

Thank you for responding to this!

You can also try https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/mac/index.html

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove Century Anything. Now do the same in the computers Programs Folder.

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

After the problem is fixed, Bookmark and use this; Download the Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
