AGAIN: Firefox Is NOT Saving OR Sync - ing Passwords : Why Not?
Let me try again:
First: I'm running Windows 10 and have the LATEST Firefox ver. 45.0.2. I HAVE read through the support forum and have not found a response that addresses the issue(s) I'm having. IF YOU RESPOND, PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE FIRST so you know all of the steps that I have *already* taken.
Second: Firefox is not saving login and password information on this computer (this has been ongoing for months).
Third: Firefox is not Sync-ing login and password information with my Firefox account. Also, it periodically loses the Sync connection and I have to re-enter my password. (I also have a Win XP computer running Firefox ver. 45.0.2 that has never had a problem retaining login and password information.)
Fourth: BOTH of my computers have Firefox setup IDENTICALLY--all the same settings, both are logged in to the Firefox account.
Fifth: Both of my computers ARE Sync-ing all other data (bookmarks, extensions, etc.--all of the check boxes in Settings are "on").
Sixth: I have reinstalled Firefox on both computers. I have quadruple checked that all of the settings are the same. The ONLY thing I haven't done is a complete uninstall of Firefox on the Win 10 computer (all files--exe, data, profile info, everything). I really loathe the simple, nuclear option "necessary step" so often given to solve any problem, whether or not it really needs a sledge hammer when a tack hammer would do fine. Know what I mean?
So, finally, PLEASE help!

Please take care. Please consider backing up profile data before removing appdata, or you WILL lose information.
- Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles
- The profile, or appdata includes any passwords and bookmarks

SOLUTION: complete uninstall of Firefox (including \Mozilla\Firefox folder and %appdata%\roaming\Mozilla\Firefox folder); fresh install of Firefox; and, finally, running Sync (with digital fingers crossed).
It SEEMS to have worked (logins and passwords populated with all data from other PC (plus all of the other Sync data that was never an issue). Will see if the login and password is durably retained, as well as whether the Sync connection doesn't need to be logged-in every couple of hours.
