Can you set a different default font on your Mac that Firefox uses for the user interface?
If you read a crash report then you see font related entries like this and that strongly suggest that it is afont related issue. *https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/534552c9-0fdb-4f05-9b49-55beb2151024 5 XUL gfxMacPlatformFontList::GetDefaultFont(gfxFontStyle const*) 6 XUL gfxFontGroup::GetDefaultFont() 7 XUL nsFontMetrics::ExternalLeading()Read this answer in context 👍 0

Sorry is Version 41.0.2
Product Firefox Version 41.0.1
Release Channel release OS Mac OS X OS Version 10.11.0 15A284
For some time now, a lot of Mac’s with Microsoft programs have been crashing. Check with Microsoft / Mac support sites.
Sorry i marked FredMcD's answer erroneously as "helped me" but absolutely not!
Maybe you didn't read the problem carefully enough. If i woiuld suffer any MICROSOFT problems i would contact Microsoft.
I do not have any problems with Microsoft products nor do they run while FIREFOX is running. But Firefox is crashing a lot like a lot of other users report, too. So would be thankful for any help regarding this FIREFOX issue and no Microsfot help.

The crash report flagged these programs;
libobjc.A.dylib = ? Word for Mac
libsystem_kernel.dylib = ? Word for Mac
libdispatch.dylib = ? Word for Mac
libsystem_pthread.dylib = ? Word for Mac
lpxpcom_x86_64.dylib = unknown ? LastPass
It's not my problem, what FireFox marks. Word is not running and if FireFox causes problems with Word, than FireFox has obviously a problem as it should not interact with (a closed) Word anyway! Guess FireFox is not a part of Microsoft's Office suite, yet... Maybe developers should search for a reason why FireFox interacts with closed programs and crashes on this interactions in El Capitan.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
You can check for corrupted and duplicate fonts and other font issues:
- http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/multipleappsquit.html - Font Book 2.0 Help: Checking for damaged fonts
- http://www.creativetechs.com/iq/garbled_fonts_troubleshooting_guide.html

The problem still occurs in Safe Mode >If your problem persists in Safe Mode, it is not being caused by an >extension, theme or hardware acceleration.
There are no duplicated fonts or missing font elements in Font book

As system font of El Capitan is so horrible, i guess a lot of people - specially in graphic design - replaced the system font with this alternatve: https://github.com/jenskutilek/FiraSystemFontReplacement
But is is still FireFox's secret why it is the only program which crashes with this new system font? So i would still call this a bug. But thanx a lot for your enduring survey of the crash repport! And i think this could be the basic reason of all crashes... i will check that. Best.

So, you have confirmed that the crashes are caused by replacing this system font with another font and you no longer have crashes when you reverse this change?
Sorry, no. I have to checked it for the last few days now, but crash came back dispite i replaced the original systemfonts.
As linked in the begining of this thread, it mostly crashes after sleeping mode or while trying to open a new tab or window.
Tanks for your help

OH NO... it crashed again... bp-4f11d31f-4f5a-478c-b320-8116f2151026
Signature libobjc.A.dylib
lpxpcom_x86_64.dylib = LastPass ?
libsystem_kernel.dylib = ? Word for Mac
libsystem_pthread.dylib = ? Word for Mac
libdispatch.dylib = ? Word for Mac
libobjc.A.dylib = ? Word for Mac
As a test, disable LastPass
I can check it again, but i checked it so much with all Plugins deactivated and in SafeMode and FireFox crashed, too....
Last Past is the most important plugin at all. Without it, i would have to change the browser instantly, as it is the basis for all internet access...
No keeps crashing, so none of your suggestions did actually change anything. In the end the fonts did not cause these troubles, too...
I marked cor-el's answer as a Solution, but after a few days i have to admit that it was not the solution. Firefox keeps crashing, still...

FireFox was my browser of choice. However, it is now so slow and unreliable that I, unfortunately, have to switch to Safari, which is at least reliable.
