re :Message rejected for spam or virus content The error message explains the issue.

you can check to see if there is a virus/malware attached. right click on email and choose 'Save As' save it to another folder outside of thunderbird as a.eml file. then run a scan on that .eml file. If no malware/virus then you know it was refused because it was flagged as 'Spam'.

Not sure I did this right--there was no option to save it as an .eml file, so I just chose the option to "save as an email file," although it didn't give it that extension--I scanned it and it came up clean.

Don't think my emails are being flagged as "spam" because they're bouncing back from multiple locations, including my other email accounts. Doesn't seem likely that is the problem.

If it's any help, they also bounced back when I tried to send them from my phone....

It sounds very likely to be a classified as spam issue. Either your email address has been flagged as sending spam or the server you are using to send has been flagged. Servers have recently got more sensitive on spam controls.

So...what do I do to solve this problem?

What domain are you sending mail from? The part after the @ in your email address. What domain are you sending your mail to? Have you emailed support@ the domain your trying to send mail to?
