thunderbird setup not recognising password of email account
I have input my email address and the password, but the mil account setup wont work. the error message is: configuration could not be verified - is the user name or password wrong?
I don't know what to try but I am dead sure that they are correct.

Can you login to your account via webmail?
yep, web mail is fine, i have tried two different email addresses and neither work. one has been on thunderbird for years i have just got a new laptop but i only wanted to use it for my work email and i cant get it to recognise either. thanks

Yes, I have changed the password for this successfully but it is never recognised. It keeps coming back to ask for new password or new master password. All my contacts were emailed with a bogus email from me this morning. I contacted my ISP Virgin Media but they tell me that if I have changed my password then everything will be OK.? How can I go back to zero and begin again?
