I have five or so email address. Before the recent Thunderbird update they were all included in my inbox as well as individually. Since the update, a day or two ago, the inbox only includes the first on the list and all other incoming emails illuminate their individual addresses. I'd like to get back to an all inclusive inbox for incoming emails.

I've waded through all the toolbar items and the online help to no avail. I just cannot spot a remedy.

thanks in anticipation

View|Folders|All is the baseline presentation where each account is shown separately. Users who don't like new messages being split across multiple folders can use View|Folders|Unified to give the effect of a single Inbox aggregating all their accounts.

Would either of these views account for what you have seen?

Do you see your accounts and their folders listed at the left? If not, is View|Layout|Folder Pane checked?

As often happens, on asking a question, the problem rectifies itself. It now appears that selecting "Inbox" contains the messages arriving at the individual addresses, which also contain the messages.

However, the problem has persisted on my wife's PC for a long time, so, any definitive procedure to cure the problem would still be welcome.

Thanks goodness for magic

Best wishes

Thank you Zenos for your prompt and helpful reply with my own Thunderbird still behaving.

Sorry for delay in response, I could not access my wife's email account on her own PC until a few minutes ago.

She has two addresses but the individual address contents are not aggregated into her inbox. with one email at the first address and twenty at the other address. However, as she has only two addresses it has not been too difficult a problem.

She has Thunderbird 38.2.0 (she uses Win 7 Home Premium) and the View section is as follows:

View[Folders]All not checked View[Folders]Unified checked View[Layout]Folders Pane checked

Perplexing - warmest regards from agrif
