Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Tried these, Ad Choices is still on the machine and I can't seem to get rid of it.

The only place I see Ad Choices are the symbols on the ads. There is nothing in any of the program files computer/browsers that give me an opportunity to delete. All the programs that I have run so far don't see a thing.

How do I know if some of these programs are not my problem? What is safe anymore this computer is less than a week old and buggy as all get-out already.

Have you noticed anything suspicious, like numerous secure certificate errors?

Three other thoughts:

(1) Malware isn't always listed under an obvious name. You may want to double-check the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program, by date.

After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help you spot undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Be suspicious of everything you do not recognize/remember, as malware often uses important or innocent sounding names to discourage you from removing it. Take out as much trash as possible here.

(2) Some malware embeds in configuration files in the Firefox program folder. For that, I suggest:

Clean Reinstall

We use this name, but it's not about removing your settings, it's about making sure the program files are clean (no inconsistent, corrupted, or alien code files). As described below, this process does not disturb your existing settings. Do NOT uninstall Firefox, that's not needed.

(A) Download a fresh installer for Firefox 39.0 from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ to a convenient location. (Scroll down to your preferred language.)

(B) Exit out of Firefox (if applicable).

(C) Rename the program folder, either:

(64-bit Windows folder names)

C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

to

C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox

(32-bit Windows folder names)

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

to

C:\Program Files\OldFirefox

(D) Run the installer you downloaded in #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

Any improvement after this reinstall?

Note: Some plugins may exist only in that OldFirefox folder. If something essential is missing, look in these folders:

• \OldFirefox\Plugins
• \OldFirefox\browser\plugins

(3) Using a proxy can allow for injections of unwanted materials into pages. You can check your Firefox connection setting here:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab, click the "Settings" button. The default of "Use system proxy settings" should piggyback on your Windows/IE "LAN" settings, but you also could try "No proxy".

reinstalled firefox still have AdChoices there.

Is it too late to return this computer and get a different one?

• Nothing unusual in the Uninstall a Program list?
• Connection setting normal?

Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

• "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
• Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?

Yes I think it may be a bit late. What kills me is that I did this to myself and can't seem to fix it.

Nothing shows up anywhere but the label on the ads

Just to backtrack for a moment: are you sure these are not just ads generated by the website(s) you're visiting? For example, do these ads appear in the same positions on the page in Internet Explorer or other browsers?
