Hi, there's a forum which I have had a bad experience with and I want to block it straight out. Can I do this on firefox? Somehow make the site not open even if it's clicked on?

Thanks in advance

There are some site-blocking extensions to protect you from yourself. For example:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/leechblock/

At the system level, you can add domains to the /etc/hosts file to prevent all browsers from connecting. (This is a bit beyond the scope of this forum, however.)

The forum software detected your Firefox as version 28. Is that correct?

Version 28 is not secure; Mozilla discloses security flaws after each new release. Is something holding you back from upgrading to Firefox 38? Please let us know so we can suggest solutions or workarounds.

I've never used this forum so I hope I'm doing this right but I have a similar problem.

Panda security software was installed on my computer when it went in for repairs and now, they open a new window for an ad to upgrade the program. The ad also pops up in the corner of my desktop. I've went to the Panda website to try and unsubscribe or something and they don't have this option. I would really like to block the ads!

I only know the basics of how to use my laptop so technical advice is beyond me.

Hi washilover, you may want to uninstall the Panda software from your computer. I suspect that as long as you allow it to run, it will keep encouraging you to buy it.

Can you find Panda in the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program? Or if it's Mac, wherever such things are on Mac...
