can connect using ip address but not using web address settings?

Trying to connect to internet using t mobile hotspot. Windows 7 Firefox browser I can get to a website using the ip address however nothing using www.msn.com or anything. In the connect to the internet window in Options network I have no idea what to put in there I tried auto nothing works

The 'numbers' you are talking about are, if you will, the 'phone number' of the web site. When you enter a name, the information is sent to one of several "phone book" web sites that provide the 'number' to the site. For some reason, this is no longer working.

I don't know how to fix this.
