Please Mention Your Firefox Version And Your OS Too..

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Firefox 29 and later versions have the Australis interface that looks different than the user interface in Firefox 28 and older versions.

  • With the Australis interface the orange Firefox menu button has been replaced by the three bar Firefox Menu button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar
A consequence of this new menu button is that you no longer can hide the Navigation Toolbar
  • There is a star like button to the right end of the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar to bookmark the current web page and a "Show your bookmarks" button next to it to open the Bookmarks in a drop down menu
  • It is still possible to have the menu bar visible via the right-click context menu on the toolbars to have menus like the Bookmarks menu or bring up the menu bar by holding down the Alt key or by pressing the F10 hey

Hi simansi,
sorry you are having problems with Firefox. This does not sound good. I think your problem is not with bookmarks but open tabs.

Please Immediately back up your profile and put the folder & files somewhere safe outside the Firefox program or profile paths. Your Windows Desktop will do. The profile may contain files that will help with trying to get back at least some of the open tabs.

If you caught this in time without doing other restarts the file sessionstore.bak would probably contain the required information. Of course that is not something you could be expected to know.

This is a known issue in Firefox 29. It is hoped to have been fixed in last Fridays point release update to Firefox 29.0.1 My recent post /questions/999842#answer-573253 gives more details of the bug, and an easy fix if you catch the problem straight away.

It is not straight forward to try to recover the lost open tabs, but if you wish to try there are two possible methods. Unless the information is important the recovery method may not be worth trying.

  1. Hope one of the current Firefox profile files has the correct information.
  2. Carefully try Windows, to see if that has a previous version of the relevant file.

Backup your profile.

The profile is easiest to find from the troubleshooting information page of a working Firefox. In this instance as you do not want to be opening & restarting Firefox unnecessarily it may be better to search for it instead; unless Firefox is already open.

For instructions see

Try to use a Firefox Backup file

It is best to try this out using a new additional Firefox profile, and using copies of profile files created from the backup you have made.

One of the sessionstore backup files ending .bak , or a numbered file may work if renamed as sessionstore.js an put in the new test profile in place of the sessionstore.js file that has. Test this by starting Firefox with that profile. The easiest method of starting Firefox is with a different profile is to use the built in profile manager. Using the profile manager is also the easiest method of creating a new profile

Instructions of use of the built in profilemanager

Look for a previous file version kept by Windows.

You need to be careful with this. Remember it is easy to make things worse. It is good practice always to backup existing files before attempting this. It is also worth trying out the files in a test profile.

( I posted this without explaining the steps, but cor-el's post under fills the gap by explaining )

Forum software guessed your system is Windows 7 and using Firefox 29. (It will not differentiate between Fx29.0 & Fx29.0.1)

I will change the thread title from

  • All my bookmarks are disappeared. Where I can find its? How?

to

  • My History restore, and open tabs have disappeared. (Firefox 29)

Perhaps you will clarify what is missing.

You say history. I presume that includes tabs that you had open, is that the case ?

You say bookmarks I may be wrong in which case the title can be changed back. Ways of looking at bookmarks include

What can you not find,

  • Individual bookmarks ? that you have made previously
  • Tabs that you had open in the tab bar and expected to open again ?
  • Individual History items ?
  • All history or bookmarks cannot be found ? If so please explain how you look for them and what you do ?

Screenshots may help us understand what you see

If you lost open tabs then you can try to restore a previous version of the sessionstore.js file.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
