I've tuned in to Firefox this morning to find that I'm kind of shut out, no access to my usual apps, and required to enact some difficult backing up etc. When I explore, it seems to relate to Windows 10 losing its backup from Microsoft. But I'm running Windows 11, not 10. What's going on? Is this legitimate? If so, why is it complicated and why wasn't it forewarned (by Firefox)?

Firefox deleted many folders in my bookmarks file. Then, trying to straighten this out, Firefox has completely changed its home page layout and I can not manage it even in the simplest way. I want to restore everything to how it was two or three days ago.

I've been searching for three days now for a solution that will work to restore my profile from a crashed windows-7 machine to my new windows-11. Nothing listed in any forum or help desk works as described. I used to be able to just rename the folder to the exact file name on the new PC, but windows 11 won't let me do anything. It always needs admin permissions and even after I activated the admin account and assigned a password, I still cannot copy to the folder or rename the folder. Every attempt to do this on W-11 fails. It shouldn't be that hard and I'm tired of wasting days playing with this. I have important bookmarks, passwords etc. I want restored, and I need help. Nobody wants to pick up a phone anymore to assist!

I have never used "sync" because I have multiple PCs and each used for different applications and yes some go back to W-7, the operating system that actually worked well. Each PC has Firefox and a distinct bookmark file.

I went to "about:profiles" and created a new profile thinking I could copy to the new folder, but when i switched profiles I couldn't get back to the original default! HELP!

Context: So, I needed to get into Pear Assessment for school (I use my personal computer for school too) And I couldn't get into my Practice Test, so my mom suggested that I delete my history in an attempt to get in. So then I deleted it also thinking it might have a chance at working. But it didn't, and now I deleted my personal history for nothing. Please help me. Thank you.

I moved and my moving company had my computer soundly packed in a box. After 2 months I have hooked it up. Tried to open my Firefox and the message stated the file is corrupt. I've opened a new Firefox account. Can I get my old account back or can I get my old information into my new account?

I recently went to settings to make sure my default browser on my Windows 11 device was Foxfire. I think I also saw an option to move all tabs over from other browsers, but instead of adding these to my current ones on foxfire, I think it just replace all of the ones I had as they are not in my history any longer either. I went to the 3 lines, to settings, to general, made sure all was checked properly, but it did not help bring the others back!!! help

This problem has been covered in this forum before. However, the various solutions have not worked for me because it seems my backup previous.jsonlz4 was corrupted. I did exit Firefox normally, but I am not sure because I have been using multiple different browsers in recent months.

This is what happened this morning: my Firefox on Mac OSX was closed normally, and I rebooted the MacBook. Afterwards, I could not restore old tabs because "Recently Closed Tabs" and "Recently Closed Windows" are greyed out.

I tried copying recovery.jsonlz4 from the last folder and putting it into the main folder as sessionstore.jsonlz4, then reopening Firefox. Still have no restored tabs. Here was the surprise, which I do not know how to interpret.

I just checked some files and found this error message in sessionrestore-logs folder:

When Firefox updated to 147.0.3, it shredded Quick Dial and I am using the latest version.. Less than half of my tabs still exist, and many of the "everyday" tabs - banking, utilities, online purchasing, etc, - are simply gone. Unless there is a solution, and I have contacted the developer with no success, I will no longer be a Firefox user. Beyond this issue, Firefox has been increasing difficult to use for purchases (big examples, Rock Auto, PayPal) and have had to switch browsers too many times to complete purchases DESPITE making exceptions for these websites in Settings. This situation is the proverbial "last straw". Solution or I'm out. Screenshot attached would have originally shown A FULL PAGE OF TABS.

Windows 11 Firefox crashed on opening continuously so unable to safe open etc. Did update intel graphics to no avail. Uninstalled in add programs in settings. Did not choose to delete data. Reinstalled and now can't find my profile.

Firefox updated automatically overnight, all bookmarks vanished. Toolbar bookmarks, gone. History information disappeared two weeks ago. Library box is now gone, too! Windows 11. Firefox version 147.0.3 64-bit

My primary firefox/google profile vanished along with all bookmarks. Recovery history only shows bookmark from secondary account that is under a different email.

How to I restore the bookmarks (years worth!) from my primary profile?

It seems that the bookmarks function and history files are possibly "in use by another app". I do not understand much of this. I think it happened after an update. I tried a restore point. I deleted the Icons file as it seemed that might be an issue and they would automatically update on restart. I called Dell support, they could not fix it, neither could my smart, younger friends. So after hours of frustration, I had to install chrome, which I hate. What I want is for someone to just fix it. Its 2:30am and I need to get some sleep, I will check this tomorrow afternoon and see if I can get anywhere. Good night all!

You did a new mozilla today and my bookmarks and bookmark tool bar are gone everywhere. How do I get back to profile yesterday 2/10/2026. It deleted my settings in TOOLs, Settings. Especially in security, how I want my home screen to look. This is horrible. Help.

After the last update, I have lost all of my bookmarks!! Why? I am really upset about this. Least of all, this is not acceptable. I had some really important websites in my saved bookmarks that I needed, now I am at square-one. I am not a happy camper. Leave our settings alone.....!! Now, is there any way to get our bookmarks back? What do we do? I really need help - any help, please...... Thank you.

After updating to Firefox 147.0.3 all of my browser history (along with open tabs at the time of updating) is lost. I just updated to Windows 11 workstations (plus a couple of older Windows 10 workstations) to the current (Feb 2026) updates too. However the history data was lost before the Windows updates. I noticed that with the previous update of Firefox that saved login information was also lost. Who is doing your program updates, a chimp?

In the past when an update was done the browser would open back up with all of the previous versions session tabs in tact. But not now.

I've lost several tabs of research that was being done. Based on what has been happening, I will HAVE to change to some other browser. This is a shame as I've been a loyal Firefox user since day one. Good bye Mozilla and Firefox.
