Hello. I hope you are having a great day. I like the feature where if I saved the password, Firefox automatically puts them in for me, but for some unknown reason, the settings keep reverting back and removing this option. It does not save my preferences so if I restart my computer, I have to change the settings again which is getting frustrating. Is there anything I can do to make this option permanent? Thanks for any info and have a great day Kind Regards John

Firefox (113.0.1 (64-bit), Mozilla Firefox Snap for Ubuntu) won't open files in a filesystem other than the filesystem on which my home directory resides. I have a second filesystem mounted at /970 but trying to open any file whose URL starts with file:///970 elicits a "File not found" error message, e.g. "Firefox can’t find the file at /970/stuff.jpg". Setting security.sandbox.content.level to a lower number (I've tried 0, 1, and 2) does not fix the problem. I didn't have this problem with earlier versions of Firefox; it started after I upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS (x86_64)which got me a newer Firefox as well. Chrome continues to open files in /970 with no difficulty.

mount information for / (which includes my home directory) and /970: /dev/nvme0n1p2 on / type ext4 (rw,relatime,errors=remount-ro,stripe=32) /dev/nvme1n1p3 on /970 type ext4 (rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,x-gvfs-show)

The "shield" icon for turning off tracking protection cannot be turned off completely. It seems you have to do this for every single website. This feature (curse) makes almost all websites non-functional. How do I turn this off completely? If I cannot eliminate this I will change to another browser.

Title says it. Basically, I forgot my main password for Firefox. The only way really was to make a new password for my accounts. I knew I'd lose access to all my other passwords but that's life. I was able to disconnect and then reconnect with my new password on my Android application and log on to my accounts on another machine, but it's been impossible to log out and start fresh again on my main computer (MacBook Air). As per normal, whenever I open Firefox (I've deinstalled and reinstalled multiple times, as well as deleting cookies) I immediately get the pop-up box asking for my password. It does not accept the new password, which has worked on other connected machines. I figured the only way to get around this would be to log out of my account on my MacBook, but then the only way to do this is by using my password -- which this specific pop-up box will not accept. Is there a way around this?

I want to make a suggestion: This last week I was financially hacked and I have to close all my bank accounts, etc. My biggest concern is anyone with my FF login info can get all my passwords, etc, if they compromise my phone or any device with my browser, and reach into EVERY financial institution I am affiliated with, not just my bank.

My suggested solution: Since all my accounts contain all my info in Firefox, let me choose one that I can control with biometric login only so I can block all my info unless my hands have been cutoff. You can add a back door with multiple info requests to the print, or request additional fingers, if I click add this. I am terrified they will get to ALL my empty credit cards since they hacked all my info. Personally I love the fingerprint, and if I lock it, it can ONLY be unlocked with my fingerprint, or additional things I choose. I don't have all my pwds handy, nor could I ever have what all I need. I am CONSTANTLY locked out because I don't recall my pw.

Hi, I've been struggling with this for months and can't find an easy solution or a good explanation. I'm running Ubuntu 22.04 pretty basic, I don't have many custom repositories enabled or anything, just a few additional packages like slack, Teams or Chrome. Ubuntu switched Firefox to snaps as well, and I can't get internet access with it. The error message is:

--- May 12 12:16:20 nuc kernel: [12948.381392] audit: type=1400 audit(1683886580.562:131): apparmor="DENIED" operation="open" profile="snap.firefox.firefox" name="/etc/fstab" pid=7731 comm="firefox" requested_mask="r" denied_mask="r" fsuid=1000 ouid=0 May 12 12:15:43 nuc rtkit-daemon[1030]: message repeated 3 times: [ Supervising 10 threads of 4 processes of 1 users.] May 12 12:16:20 nuc dbus-daemon[790]: [system] Activating via systemd: service name='org.freedesktop.hostname1' unit='dbus-org.freedesktop.hostname1.service' requested by ':1.175' (uid=1000 pid=7731 comm="/snap/firefox/2645/usr/lib/firefox/firefox " label="snap.firefox.firefox (enforce)") ---

Simply stopping (and aa-teardown) doesn't work at all, Firefox doesn't even start without apparmor running. I'm not an expert with apparmor, but I wanted to set in complain mode instead enforce, but I'm struggling with that, too. I didn't touch the /etc/hosts file, the error message is a little different on another Ubuntu 22.04 computer I use, there it complains about permission denied for the resolve.conf. So I'm asking the community, how do you deal with this? Searching the web gives me all kinds of ideas, but none of them work. Could anyone help me out here?

Thanks!

I use both Firefox & DuckDuckGo on Windows (& Android) and love 'em both.

HOWEVER, one thing really irritates. Often, a search will throw up websites labelled as "ad" (advert presumably). Sometimes I'd actually like to be able to LOOK at one or more of these, but Firefox refuses to open it/them!

Is it possible to stop this or turn it off?! If so, how? I would mention that I do use adblockers for both YouTube (which are fantasic but I thought only apply to YouTube?) and DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials but can't see how they would block the opening of "ad" websites.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I was trying to look up the menu for Subway, and every time I try, it said there was a server error and I didn’t have permission to access the website. I disconnected my phone from my WiFi, and I turned off my Bluetooth, and it still won’t allow me to view the Subway site. It’s a food menu. I don’t understand how I don’t have permission to access a food menu website, when I’m running off of my phones cellular data. And I can’t find any privacy settings within Firefox that would block me from viewing Subway’s menu. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I have an iPhone 11. I’m using Firefox as my main browser, I have for over a year now.
