Hi, I want to move my FF profile(bookmarks, passwords, login in's, CC info, preferences, etc) from my old computer to my new computer. I did a quick google search and found all I have to do is it copy the Appdata/roaming/mozilla/profile directory to the new computer. I had closed FF on the old system before I copied it to a USB drive. On the new computer I installed FF. opened it, closed it, copied the file/directory to the new system. There were already to profile subdirectories present. I just added mine. Now FF crashes. I can't have both computers on at the same time so I do not think 'Sync' will work. What did I do wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, After a bad windows update my pc crashed and I had to restore my windows 10, I found all my bookmarks in the Windows.old and tried to do the same with the login files and it failed. I didn't have a synch accout yet so I can't restore from there, just my old logins.json and its backup. Tried to just replace the files from the old to the new but didn't work. I had to reinstall my operating system, and thought the Sync with the passkey would allow me to recover my saved passwords and bookmarks. But I put in the key I was given and nothing was recovered. Did I completely misunderstand how the Sync was supposed to work?
