When I log in to hotmail, the sign in boxes do not appear. I have to sign in explorer (and I would prefer to use Mozilla). When I sign in in explorer the sign in boxes do not appear straight away - but I am given a line of text that allows me to click to overide some block.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Windows Accessibility settings.
