Is there a time or size limit setting for downloading files in Firefox

I can download and unzip a 1 Gig + backup file (tar,gz) in Firefox where the file is generated on the server by my web host.

However, if I generate the same backup file myself from my user account (cpanel, download backup) it stops at 500 MB and unzip has an error. My web host says this is a browser problem. I think it must be a user account setting, unless Firefox places some limits on time / space?
