When I send email with attachment(s), I found(via the copy I sent to myself) that the title of my attachment and lots of junk signs/numbers/symbols were added on following end of my original email. This problem suddenly happened a couple months ago. I wonder if software updates might triggered this problem? How could I get rid of this problem? Please help!

View Menu (alt+V) > Display attachments inline to turn that off.

After I posted my subject problem, I found a solution to my problem posted by "Arjan": Find the mimeTypes.rdf file in your profile folder (not the default copy in your installation folders), then rename it while Thunderbird is down. Restarting will create a new file from the default template, and the issue should be gone."

I should add, to locate "mimeTypes.rdf file, go to Thunderbird toolbar "help" - "Troubleshooting Information" - Under "Application Basics" there's "Profile folder" - click "Show Folder" and all profile folders will pop out - look for and locate mimeTypes.rdf file - rename the file as suggested by Arjan - restart the Thunderbird - Problem go away!

This worked for me nicely! Thank you Arjan!

Sad that deleting the entry under options > attachments > incoming for PDF files would probably have achieved the same thing. Most web finds and lots of answers on this site recommend radical surgery when a setting adjustment would do nicely. Just as using the utility Thunderfix fixes nothing but deletes a whole heap of files.
