Firefox grey search options box randomly pops up when I search

Every now and again when I try to use the search box and press enter, the grey mozilla options [search] box opens, asking me to confirm I want to use Google [my default] to search. This is annoying, how can I stop this please? [I took a screenshot but it will not upload.] Thanks Sue
