even when you tell installation not to load babylon it still loads the product. No matter where I download it from. Have cleaned with malwarebytes spybot search and destroy and others. Why this is even included in the package is beyond my understanding. We have had a long running relationship I am sorry to no longer be able to use this product.

Firefox does not include or download Babylon. ( You, or some program you have installed is doing that).

I understand some of the Babylon software is found to be useful by a minoritity of users. Most users with Babylon download it accidentally because it comes bundled with something else. Some even consider it to be malware. It is quite likely Babylon will attempt to change all installed browsers not just Firefox !

There are two stages to removing Babylon and similar adware or toolbars,

First of all identify the software that has been installed. Some of that may have unexpected names and be hard to identify, then afterwards reset any settings and preferences that have been changed.

First of all check your listed add-ons extensions and plugins and consider disabling or removing anything suspicious. Some of the software is likely to require removal by the Windows Operating system.

Note if you want an official copy of Firefox use

Note also that it is possible to install the current version over the top of an existing version, but (at least initially) take care NOT to use any options to remove personal data, but ensure you remove any unwanted software before attempting that or you will still have Babylon on your system.

Try to follow the above instructions and post back with how you get on. It is possible to remove Babylon, but it is a case of finding what was actually installed.

I removed Firefox from by windows 7 computer to get rid of Babylon. I then reinstalled from the official US site, however, when it came to the window which requires the password for administrator, it wouldn't accept a blank entry. I am not totally sure that is what I chose as administrator, since I have had the computer for three years or so, but I tried every password I can remember and none work. Unfortunately, a administrator password reset appears to be a big problem.

Apparently, Firefox doesn't install from my personal account, even though I am set up as an admin. so I guess I will learn to live without it.
