sending me to differant address

when i try to go to the website www.cnn.com it sends to me to www.tmz.com. no matter how i type in cnn (with the www or without it) it sends me to tmz. i looked at my bookmarks and it still says cnn is set to cnn.com but when i clicked on the bookmark to open to another window it goes to tmz.com.

this only happens for the front page of cnn.com if i go to an old link i clicked i can view the pages but when i try to go to the home page it sends me to tmz

Re: sending me to differant address

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

You can remove all stored data from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry (Show All History or History sidebar) or via the aboutSmiley Tongueermissions page.

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove everything like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions from that domain, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.
You can't recover from that "forget" unless you have a backup of the affected files.

It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
