This is my 3rd request. I cannot get rid of http://btsearch.name/# as my home page. I never made it my home page but some software I downloaded made it so. I have tried everything I know to change it back to besthomepage ever but no luck
What did you try so far?
If you do not keep changes after a restart then see:
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
You could try to reset your homepage to something else by following the instructions in this article
If that does not work it is likely that you have knowingly or otherwise installed some software extension such as a search bar (Or possibly something from a ISP or even malware) and you will need to identify and remove that.
BTW I can not see any other questions by you relating to this problem.
Post back with how you get on.
Have tired to re set the home page several times keeps reverting back. Tried disabling toolbars but that does not work. Will keep working on it. Someone out there must have downloaded this mal ware and figured out how to get rid of it.
Thanks for the advice will keep on plugging away
You may well have inadvertently downloaded software or even malware that is making changes to your system. if the above suggestions do not help then start looking for malware, See this post as for instructions: /questions/914980#answer-302372
No file like that. Finally deleted firefox completely. Backed up my extensive bookmarks and could not import them. Now manually re entering them. Still have http://btsearch.name/ as home page.
Yup, sure sounds like malware to me.
Read through this article to find the malicious software and find a tool that will help you remove it. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-
