Hi!

That's the Master Password you set for your browser. There's more info here: Use a Master Password to protect stored logins and passwords

thanks.

It would be helpful if they would use the same terminology, i.e., "Please enter your Firefox Master Password". I don't even recall setting that up...

I have the master password and have entered it numerous times, but the request for password continues to come up. What does this mean regarding the syncing of my devices, and what can be done?

Re: On MacOS - Firefox:Preferences:Sync:Set Up Firefox Sync:Create a New Account -- asks "Please enter the master password for the Software Security Device." ???What password is it asking for?

hi...i've never set a master password for firefox, but in dealing with a cabling issue earlier today, leaned down over my keyboard, and pressed into it with my chest. Firefox was on at the time, but when I came back up, low and behold I'd hit a combination of buttons, I suppose, that has locked it. There is no password, of which I am aware, or that I have ever used. I am also the only one with access to this particular machine. Not a big fan of the lockout:) Any thoughts you all might have about how to undo this business, would be appreciated. Thanks.

Please Ask a new question and provide the requested information.

Doesn't sound like your problem is related to the topic being discussed in the older thread - Master Password with Firefox Sync on an Apple Mac computer.
