Can't access my LinkedIn account with my normal username and password. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem?
Works for me at the moment (Firefox 4 on Windows 7).
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
1. Clear Firefox's Cache
Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage: "Clear Now"
2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here (while viewing a page on linkedin.com)
right-click the page, choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Does that help?
@pfoster, what happens when you try to log in?
If you let Firefox save your LinkedIn password, try clearing it.
orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Security
Use the "Saved Passwords" button to remove the saved password.
Cheers jscher2000, it worked for me.
Had to wait about 5-10 minutes bofere cache was cleared and it didnt worked. Then went to step 2 and deleted the cookies. Now it works. I'm happy ;o)
- With Firefox 7.0.1 on a Windows XP system I have no problem logging in to Linkedin. - But after execution all suggestions with Firofox 7.0.1 on a Window 7 computer it is still impossible to get into Linkedin. When I ask eventually for a reset of my password by Linkedin (forget password) and enter my emailaddress Linkedin replies with : "Request Error, We’re sorry, there was a problem with your request. Please make sure you have cookies enabled and try again." - Even setting Windows Internet options > privacy > "all cookies accepted" doesn't solve the problem.
Check your Firefox cookie settings for Linkedin.com by right-clicking the login page, choosing View Page Info, then clicking the Permissions tab.
Under "Set Cookies" you probably will see a check in the checkbox for "Use Default" and then to the right, grayed out, you will see what your default currently is. If it isn't "Allow," then uncheck "Use Default" and click the Allow bubble. Then reload the page and try again.
Does that help?
By the way, Windows Internet options > privacy > "all cookies accepted" is for Internet Explorer and applications that use it. Firefox has its own internal settings. See https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Cookies for more information.
Same problem...no problem logging into linkedin using both IE version 9.0.8112.16421 AND google chrome! However unable to with Firefox. Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 9.0.1 - didn't help
Unchecked the "use default" and checked "allow" in the Set Cookies section of Permissions tab of "Page Info"...closed browser and reopened, went to linkedin.com and got the error: The email address or password you provided does not match our records.....yet the same email & password works on IE and chrome.
Wonder why I can log into linkedin from IE & chrome, but not firefox??
@superman007 - you get:
The email address or password you provided does not match our records
Is it possible that Firefox is inserting an incorrect saved password for LinkedIn? To clear saved passwords, try this dialog:
orange Firefox button > Options > Security > "Saved Passwords"
Tools menu > Options > Security > "Saved Passwords"
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
