I can't log out of Twitter, even when I click 'log out' and delete all active sessions from all time and restart Firefox.

I have tried the following:

about:config browser.sessionstore.privacy_level set it's value to 1 {It may not work for all HTTPS sites but I have tested it on facebook,gmail and it worked.} signon.autofillForms {double click it to set it's value false} {Prevents auto fill up of forms.Firefox won't autofill the name and password. You need to open the name list with a double click in the name empty field.} browser.tabs.warnOnClose {Make sure it's boolean value is true.}

about:sessionrestore {For session restore.}

I have also tried logging out manually, restarting the browser and have run out of ideas. When I come back to Twitter I'm still logged in, and I wish to log into a different account which Firefox simply isn't letting me do!

I have also unticked 'save passwords for sites' and I've noticed before I did that that there weren't any saved passwords in my saved passwords list anyway.

I had this problem on version 12, so I updated to 13 and still have the same issue.

I've restarted Firefox with add-ons disabled (safe mode) and I'm still logged in to Twitter

Hi,

If a password manager is installed, it could be automatically signing you in.

You can check if this happens in a new profile. After the new profile opens, please look in Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons for any default add-ons/helper applications related to software on the PC. If the new profile is okay, you can then Reset Firefox on the old (previous) profile via Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information.

You need the cookies from that site.

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
