Re: How do I remove Yahoo tool bar?

Hello Sue.

  1. Go into Tools > Add-ons > Extensions.
  2. Locate, in the list presented, the extension that enables Yahoo's toolbar (probably called Yahoo toolbar or something similar).
  3. Select that extension.
  4. Click the button Disable or the button Uninstall.
  5. Restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.

If you can't detect which extension it is, ask for help and I'll help you. If you don't want to uninstall or disable the toolbar and just want to hide it, go into View > Toolbars and click the entry that refers to Yahoo's toolbar (if it's present and enabled).

I hope this helps.

Re: How do I remove Yahoo tool bar?

In Firefox 3.6 and later on Windows you can hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu on a toolbar.

Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

In Firefox 4, click on the down arrow next to "Firefox" in the upper left corner. Click on "Options", and then unclick Yahoo Toolbar.

Re: How do I remove Yahoo tool bar?

I don't have Yahoo in my Extension list anymore (I have eradicated every elements of it from the the program file too), still Yahoo comes appears all the time before switching to google. Any suggestion? Also, I want back my old Firefox tool bar without pushing F1o, whatever.

Re: How do I remove Yahoo tool bar?

You can right click the orange Firefox button to open the toolbar context menu or use (F10) View > Toolbars.

  • Click "Menu Bar" to make the Menu Bar visible all the time.
  • Click "Tabs on Top" to remove the check mark and place the Tab Bar at its original position just above the browser window.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Re: How do I remove Yahoo tool bar?

Here is how I fixed this annoying problem. I have FF 7.0.1

Help>Restart with Add-ons disabled

A menu will come up. DO NOT select any boxes. Just have FF go into Safe-Mode. Once in the safe-mode go to Tools>Add-ons and REMOVE anything that has to do with Yahoo.

Restart FF.

This worked like a charm for me. If it doesnt work try checking some of the check-boxes in the safe-mode menu.

The reason I had to go through this is because even after disabling the Yahoo! add-on AND extension I was still having problems. Not mention that I couldnt uninstall (only disable) it because uninstall option wasnt available. It only became visible once FF was in the safe-mode.

good luck
