How can I disable the private browsing and clear history options?
the private browsing option has been used by some uses of my computer to viewed explicit material. I would like to remove this option so that users know that I will be able to view the sites they look at.
There's a Bug filed to disable Private Browsing when "parental controls" are enabled, but that won't help WinXP users - only Vista & (probably) Windows 7 users - but there's been no action to even work on that Bug.
See comment#26, by me, and the response it generated from one of the developers. The developers seem unwilling to do anything, even to restore Firefox 3.5+ versions to the previous state - sans Private Browsing.

Firstly, you cannot remove it effectively.
Secondly, that's not going to stop them looking at the sites and hiding it using other means, and there are plenty of other means.
You need to [monitor your network traffic http://www.wireshark.org/download.html] regardless of what browser/other application is used to get there.
Then the next time they think they hid their browsing, print out the log to show them nothing can be hidden.
