Re: Flash movies still don't load with Firefox 13.0.1

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox 13 are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.

In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:

Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems

Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again

Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox

Other, more technical information about these issues can be found under these Links:

Re: Flash movies still don't load with Firefox 13.0.1

Seems to be, that Adobes flash plugin interferes somehow with the scripting. Firefox 13.0.1 still hangs when this plugin is aktivated even when I only delete the chronic (Ctrl+Shift+Del). It takes about 2 Minutes for Firefox to come back! On any web site using flash, it takes an eternity. This occurs even when no other plugin is installed. On my system deactivating the plugin doesn't affected the Ctrl+Shift+Del problem, only uninstalling Adobe flash player. Now, as last option I chose to disable the protected mode for the plugin (although not recommended for securiyty reasons). The c:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\mms.cfg file looks like this (without blank lines):

AutoUpdateDisable=1

SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0

ProtectedMode=0

Now I'm able to play flash videos again but I'm not sure how severe is the security problem due to disabled protected mode.
