Firefox won't remember tabs (pinned or not) on shutdown.

Hokay, I'm trying to breathe deep here and not lose my head.

I am running two computers, side by side. Both are Win7 64-bit... *BOTH* of the machines started to play up tonight. The second machine was running FF locked in a minimised state, and after a few choice curse words and an hour of my life, I was able to google-shoot the problem (finding my way here, and the answer).

This machine, however, is exhibiting the most frustrating behavior. It will not save sessions /tabs/pinned app tabs. It was working fine for well over a year, and decided to poo the bed just now.

To attempt to fix it, as suggested on this site: - I have deleted the .js session restore files in the Profile folder. It didn't help. - I have checked and rechecked and re-saved my settings for browser history and privacy as I have seen on this website, they all appear to be set correctly (Show windows and tabs is selected, and I have elected to keep browser history).

All in all, none of these things have worked. In addition: - I haven't installed any extensions or played with settings. - I have restarted the computer. - I have checked CCleaner and it is not set to fiddle with anything FF related.

It seems strange that both machines play up on the same night, and both are mind-bogglingly frustrating.

Please help!

Okay, I think I got this thing licked, and Mozilla better pay attention here...

I believe the problem was caused by popup ads, as when I started up FF and tried to restore the session, it was trying to tell me the session that was minimised was some hotels garbage that I hadn't browsed to, but I HAD seen a recent pop up ad that ran a title that I am sure was the same.

So, here it is: Mozilla - Somehow stop pop-up advertising from forcing a new window in Firefox, and it should stop a lot of this garbage from happening.

WOW

Just... WOW.

I just restarted the machine again. Now THIS Firefox is doing the "running minimised" bug that the OTHER machine had.

What is going on, Mozilla? Seriously, WTF?
