Firefox will not keep me logged in to certain websites like Swagbucks or Ebay. I am not a techy person but I need help! It is making me crazy to have to resign in everytime I open a new page!
You may generally have to Accept cookies from sites as well as Accept third-party cookies for some sites in Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Privacy. If the problem persists please also check if any installed extensions in Tools > Add-ons may be causing the issue. You may have to go into the settings of the extension. You can also check in Safe Mode.
Thanks for the repy Vivek. I have gone into Tools and set it to customize and said Accept Cookies and Accept Third-Party Cookies. I have also added the main websites that I frequently visit to the exceptions list and chose Allow. But it still is happening.
Interestingly, this just started when we moved to a new home with a different internet service provider. Could their setting be somehow causing this problem?
Is there a chance you may have installed privacy/security extensions?? Or an already installed extension could have been updated. You can check in Safe Mode to rule this out.
I just tried in Safe Mode...still happening.
The only thing that "I" changed was internet service provider. There may or may not have been a Firefox update within the last 2-3 weeks...if so, that would be the only other change. By the way...this is happening to all three computers in my house...my desktop, my husbands desktop, and my laptop.
My cell is a hotspot..perhaps I should log on my laptop with that service and see if the problem persists...hmmm.
Okay, I tried the laptop to verify the problem persisted...it did. Then I disconnected from our internet service provider and used my cell phone as a hotspot to get a totally different internet service provider and tested the laptop...the problem is gone. I can open and close as many browser windows and go back to the earlier ones at it keeps me signed in...I tried every test possible...the problem does not exist now and the only thing that has changed is my Internet Service Provider!
So, now what could they be doing to cause this?
I've no idea. You can check with IE and if it repeats perhaps you should contact the ISP.
Thanks for all your assistance, and for listening to me :-)
I will talk to the ISP on Monday and let you know what I found out.
