This is a new laptop and the firefox version is the latest on offer. Firefox worked for 2 days then would not load from then on. I re downloaded firefox from the website but nothing happened other than my original question. I am running windows 7.
Try to install Firefox again.
You may need to check that security software is not blocking installation or update of Firefox. See also Firefox won't start - find solutions and if you are getting any error messages please say exactly what they are, or better still add a screenshot
Well, Firefox was working fine, until the update came through. Now it keeps telling me I need to reboot to complete a previous upgrade. I tried to uninstall, and get the same bloody message. I reboot, and get the same thing. I've rebooted my machine 8 times this morning trying to fix this thing. It won't budge. Using Chrome to write you this message. Very unhappy. :-/
You would have done better to start your own thread for the question using /questions/new
You could try to get rid of the current update that is causing a problem by deleting the relevant files active-update.xml updates.xml . See the old article:
Please postback with how you get on. If problems continue please start a new thread.
I have not yet seen any new question. Note some files or directories may be hidden. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_fo
Try to run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).
