If you get the PDF viewer with a notification bar at the top then you will either have to use the Adobe Reader with a plugin for Firefox or another plugin that can handle PDF files or open the file in an external PDF viewer.

Current Firefox versions have enabled a new build-in PDF Viewer that doesn't have all the features that other PDF readers like the Adobe Reader have.

You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use the Adobe Reader or set to Always Ask in "Firefox > Options > Applications".

You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the about:config page to disable the build-in PDF viewer.

This doesn't sound like a Firefox issue, but a website one (Firefox doesn't convert currency). Have you contacted the website owners?

You appear to have an extension that is about currency conversion.

  • Simple Currency Converter - foxcconverter@gmail.com

Did you check for problems with it?

This has nothing to do with conversion. It is what happens when you look at prices for online buying or internet banking . The amount shows up incorrectly. The amount is in Aussie dollars, but Firefox reads these amounts incorrectly. IE reads them correctly See attached images

A browser wouldn't do such a conversion by itself.
I would assume that the server is sending that data or uses a script to do this conversion locally.
In the case of the latter this script may not function properly in Firefox.

You can check the error console or the web console for errors, you may need to do a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5).

I am sorry, I do not understand some of your computer speak. I do not know why you call it "conversion". I am not using a currency converter. I just need Firefox to read my accounts accurately as does IE. I do not know how to do a "hard refresh" or correct the "error console"

I still need help though

The server should be sending the pages with the correct content unless they include a script to enter such details locally and in the case of the latter that script doesn't seem to work properly.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
