Trying to import my huge amount of PalmOS contacts into my Peak, there seems to be no way of opening/importing a .vcf file into FFOS "contacts". Could this be accomplished by any other way? If not, is it a difficult coding effort to enable "contacts" to read (composed) .vcf files? You know, nobody wants to enlist on facebook just to transfer their contacts to FFOS...
Mozilla plans to add webmail importing (e.g., Gmail, Hotmail) to Firefox OS in a future release. I'm not familiar with any immediate workarounds.
The following sounds like only a partial hack, but maybe it's worth a try?
"You can also import vCards into your Firefox OS phone by copying a .vcf file onto an Android phone’s SDCard. Use the Copy2SIM app to export the contacts to a SIM Card, after which you pop the SIM Card into your Firefox OS phone. Keep in mind that due to storage constraints, the SIM Card may choose to truncate each contact’s name to the first 16 characters and store only one phone number per contact. If the contact has multiple phone numbers in the .vcf file, the SIM Card may break it up into multiple entries. Finally, the SIM Card may store no more than 250 contacts total."

Using the SIM as a bridge is an awful hack, and Facebook is a crummy source of contacts, as many people don't put PHONE NUMBERS in there. PLEASE add a way to read VCF files, or a way to use syncML, or some other way for people who have MANY contacts to import them from another source.
Thanks, Bill Dudley brand-new Firefox OS phone owner.
This app worked great, except that I had to manually edit my v2.1 vcf file to be version 3.0 compatible. Once I did that, vcardin saved the day. I was dreading typing in all the contacts one by one.
I haven't personnally tried it since I've imported all my contacts from gmail (with the app importer) but there is an app for that called vCardIn on marketplace. You can find it there:
It is possible to import contact via VcardIn It is necessary to convert the vcf files in version 3.0 I used the utilitary convcard, found in the package multisync-tools. You need to install libopensync0 before
