How do I watch Flash videos with Firefox for Android?

Firefox for Android displays the tap-to-play icon by default for Flash. Use this article to learn how to watch videos and how to customize your settings for plugins like Flash.

  1. Install Adobe Flash player on your Android device by downloading an archived version from Archived Flash Player versions on adobe.com. See Adobe's guide to manually installing Flash for more information.
  2. Tap the grey box with the plugin icon as shown below to play the Flash content.

Play Flash content without tapping

Keeping your Flash set to Tap to Play is important for your security on the web because it ensures that you decide what plugins are trusted. However, you can customize Firefox for Android to enable Flash by default:

  • Tap the Menu button (either below the screen on some devices or at the top-right corner of the browser) , then Settings (you may need to tap More first) , Customize, Display. Then tap the Plugins setting and choose Enabled.
  • Tap the Menu button (either below the screen on some devices or at the top-right corner of the browser) , then Settings (you may need to tap More first) , then Display. Then tap the Plugins setting and choose Enabled.

Once again I started to translate the article, but very soon I noticed that this info is not very usable on my device. I do have Android 4.0.4 installed on Sony Xperia tipo and I have Fx25 (25.0.1) installed.

When I followed the instructions (in oreder to take loclized screenshots) and went to You Tube, I did not see any gray boxes with plugin icons, instead I saw a still picture and "play button" on top of it. Then, I Checked my plugins and I do not have Flash plugin installed. Still I can watch YouTube videos...

Anyway, is this difference in appearance due to my version of Android, or what...

Ok, thanks. So.. Flash plug-in is in built on Firefox for Android 25.0.1. Am I right? And if so, this article is relevant for only versions m24 and older?

I tested this article in emulator with Android 5 and Firefox for Android 34.

The part about pushing Customize should be removed.

So instead of: Menu > Settings > Customize > Display Its: Menu > Settings > Display

I dont know if this is a change from version 25 to 34 or just a mistake, so i will leave it for someone else to make the edit.

Updated it. Thanks!
